New truffle varieties on trial in Australia's west
A new CRC project will trial two new truffle varieties to ascertain which is better suited to Australian conditions, paving the way to cultivation of a second truffle variety in WA. Murdoch University's Professor Treena Burgess, project research lead will work with WA truffle grower Adam Wilson of Varona Fine Foods, Dr Mark McHenry of mixed-farming enterprise Mt Lindesay, and the research team to trial the two truffle varieties under various environmental and agronomic conditions, using different inoculants and species of host tree.
