QUT’s Centre for Agriculture and the Bioeconomy conducts research to help solve some of the world’s biggest challenges and has substantial expertise, for instance, in tropical pulses, and selecting varieties suitable for processing into high-value health foods.
Leading researchers at the Centre for Agriculture and the Bioeconomy are currently working with CRC participant Austgrains on a project designed to adapt the flavour profiles of pulse-fortified products to suit western palates; and with the Northern Institute at Charles Darwin University and industry partners Olive Vale and Myera Group to help indigenous communities commercialise the production of native wild rice in Northern Australia.
