The Food and Agribusiness Growth Centre (FIAL) has revamped and relaunched its Australian Food Catalogue as the Australian Food and Beverage Catalogue (AFBC).
The AFBC is a searchable digital directory connecting qualified domestic and international buyers with export-ready Australian food and beverage suppliers. Free for both buyers and suppliers to access, the platform showcases included businesses’ products to buyers from 42 countries worldwide.
The expanded AFBC is a ‘one-stop shop’, says FIAL, letting prospective buyers know exactly what Australian businesses can offer them. Concise but pithy profiles detail the range of products each supplier offers and how it operates and markets itself.
“The one-of-a-kind Australian Food and Beverage Catalogue is a platform that delivers real solutions and tangible outcomes in accelerating commercially driven support for our food and agribusiness sectors,” says Rod Arenas, general manager of Commercial at FIAL.
“Over the last few years, we’ve focused on working with suppliers and buyers to make the AFBC the best it can possibly be.
“Today, we have hundreds of Aussie suppliers on the platform, ready to share their products with the world. FIAL’s central mission is to grow Australia’s share of the global food market, and the refreshed launch of the AFBC brings us one step closer to achieving this.”
FIAL’s Capturing the Prize estimated the value-add potential of digitalising supply chains and improving cross-border trade for the agrifood sector at $31 billion by 2030.
Virtual Meet the Buyer events
Alongside the revamped AFBC, FIAL helps Australian agrifood firms connect with overseas markets via its Virtual Meet the Buyer events. These give export-ready Australian food and beverage suppliers opportunities to secure one-to-one virtual meetings with interested buyers in key markets worldwide. To date, FIAL has facilitated more than 1,000 one-to-one virtual meetings between Australian suppliers and qualified buyers.
