Following in the footsteps of our inaugural Future of Food Summit, For Food’s Sake covered an array of thought-provoking and topical issues impacting Australia’s agrifood sector. Plenary and panel sessions explored the technologies, trends and innovations helping to shape the future of food, across Australia and the world.
This year’s Summit took place in Perth, Western Australia, dovetailing with evokeAG. 2024, also in town that week. The For Food’s Sake Summit included a well-attended conference at Murdoch University on Thursday 22 February, followed by a Gala Dinner at Elizabeth Quay’s new 6HEAD Perth restaurant on the Thursday evening. On Friday 23 February two busloads of guests took an out-of-town excursion to the new Food Innovation Precinct Western Australia (FIPWA) for the formal opening of its state-of-the-art Sustainable Innovative Food Technologies (SIFT) facility; with a few dozen of us staying on for on a delicious brewery lunch and a fascinating tour of FFS industry partner Melville Park. where Murdoch University staff, researchers and PhD students are conducting literally groundbreaking trials exploring the microbiomes of three popular horticulture crops.
