Gehan Abdelghany is a PhD student in the field of agronomy in the College of Engineering, IT, and Environment at CDU. She was awarded a Research Training Program (RTP) PhD Scholarship, commencing her PhD on 31 March 2020. The expected end date for her PhD will be 29 September 2024. Ms Abdelghany was Assistant Lecturer in the Botany Department, part of the Faculty of Science at Tanta University in Egypt. She has a Bachelor of Botany (Egypt) and a Master of Plant Ecology (Egypt). In Egypt, Ms Abdelghanty was also involved in teaching-related activities for undergraduate students. Her Masters thesis investigated nutrient cycling and phytoremediation efficiency in wild giant shrub Pluchea dioscoridis in the Nile Delta region of Egypt. Ms Abdelghany’s major research interests are plant population ecology, phytoremediation, plant responses to stresses, and agronomy.
